Ikat nails

Ever since I saw this trend getting big, I had to try it out! So here we go:
The colors I used were a turquoise from Rue 21, Lime Crime's Peach ❤ Cream, Finger Prints in white, and Stripe Rite in Black. I also used Essie's Matte About You too! Anyway... Here we go:
But let me give you a detailed break down of these pictures.
Two coats of the Rue 21 Turquoise.
Lime Crime Peaches ❤ Cream comes next in little cloud shapes. I used a nail dotter tool to make them. I'm obsessed with nail dotters...if you don't own any, but some right now! They cost practically nothing on Amazon...but they're priceless to nailart!
I then used Finger Paints white to add a little spot/blob to each orange cream "cloud." One of the things that I love about the ikat design is that it doesn't have to be perfect!
I love the Stripe Rite nailpolishes because their brushes are super, super thin...so it makes it easy to create itty bitty, skinny lines like these!
No flash!

Dream catcher and feather nails

Hey! This is one of my favorite nail art designs that I have done! Just love the little dream catcher!
The background color is O.P.I. "My Vampire is Buff."
I have been reading everywhere about this color...so I finally bought myself one! It is a really pretty neutral color!                      Dream catcher breakdown:
I created this dream catcher using Stripe Rite in black, finger paints in white, l.a. Colors in baby pink and magenta (which is actually purple), sinful colors nail art in sunset. The beads are Ciate Electronica, Mojito, and Headliner.
The major part of the dream catcher! I see so many dream catcher designs and the center of their dream catchers are all symmetrical and even...well, in real life dream catchers aren't just 3 little lines...so I made mine look like how dream catchers actually look!
It's not hard to figure out what happens next- 3 little lines!
As you can tell I added white feather detail. I didn't care that the lines weren't all perfect...I knew I was adding color on top of the white anyway...plus, I'm not OCD. I'm pretty chill. Haha.
Then I added the colors to the feathers to make them look more realistic and pretty!
Finally the beads! Yay! The dream catcher is complete.
Close up on the feather details. Once again, it's not perfect. And, I don't care! I love my dream catcher exactly how it is!
Next, my single feather! I started with Finger Paints white (hip hip hue-ray) and created a base for my feather.
Then I added extra thin lines with Stripe Rite in Black. I barely put any pressure on the brush as I created these lines.
To create the final level of dimension for my feather, I added a few stripes of l.a. Colors Art Deco in Silver Glitter.
Random close-up of the pinky finger! It was created using Stripe Rite in Black and Green and l.a. Colors in Magenta.
The thumb colors are Magenta, Headliner, and Mojito.

Flamingo nails!

Well, here's a small little blog post about my newest nails! Flamingos!
I saw a shirt at Wal-mart and it was 2 flamingos kissing...so here's what I came up with!
As you can tell, I used Essie's Bikini So Teeny as the background to my nails. It's my current favorite nail polish. The grass is obviously stripe rite in green. White used is Finger Paints white. The flamingos' bodies are Ciate's Cupcake Queen. And the black is Ciate's Un-restricted Glam.
The right toe was kind of rushed because I was tired and as you can tell I made the flamingo too big so he's a lonely fellow. Also, I smudged him too! So...actually he's lonely and sad! But for a quick nail design I don't think it's too bad!       Thanks for reading!         -Marissa
